True Harvest is a licensed child care facility. Our mission is to provide quality, engaging, and challenging activities in a safe and fun environment that helps improve students’ self-confidence. We celebrate individuality, promote healthy lifestyles, and initiate a love of learning. Our goal is that when students graduate they recognize their worth as someone created in God’s image and understand all that they have to offer as they embark on their journey of becoming a lifelong learner.
It is our goal to help pave the way for students as they develop a lifestyle that promotes a love of learning and the desire to be active! Here is a sneak peek of what we offer:
- Phonics and Math Skills
- Martial arts
- Dance/Movement Activities
- Foreign language
- Crafts that inspire creativity, innovation, and patience
- Hands-on activities that support the development of fine and gross motor skills, perseverance, social skills, confidence, and teamwork
Why Choose True Harvest?
In addition to the academic aspects of True Harvest, the students will be spending most of their day being active! We believe that one of the best ways to learn is through play and movement, so throughout the week students will receive martial arts, gymnastics, basketball, and dance/movement instruction.
Mrs. Fredricks has taken the time to curate a program that will offer students the opportunity to participate in:
Limited classes sizes: Students will benefit from extensive personal attention since we are limiting enrollment to 10 students
A hands-on Christian Preschool Curriculum (Abeka) that focuses on phonics, reading, writing, and math skills
Become an official member of the World Tang Soo Do Association and gain valuable martial arts skills that build self-confidence and awareness
Gain strength, flexibility, and balance while refining their motor skills through gymnastics classes
Build an understanding of rhythm and an appreciation of music and movement through dance classes
Be introduced to Korean during their karate sessions and Spanish by learning the language basics such as greetings, counting, and common objects
Learn about the flora and fauna of Alaska by exploring the outdoors and completing activities on the 3-acre school property
Use their imagination and creativity daily for interactive projects and activities
Improve social skills by interacting with their peers and working together on a regular basis
*The purchase of the martial arts uniform and True Harvest t-shirt are included in the registration fee. There is no need to purchase any additional items for your child’s gymnastics, basketball, and dance/movement lessons.
Community - True Harvest has a family atmosphere. We partner with parents and welcome open communication as students develop socially, emotionally, physically, and academically. As they learn about the importance of community, they will be challenged to take the lessons learned in the classroom and apply them to every aspect of their lives.
Creativity - Students will be encouraged to think outside of the box as they participate in innovative, hands-on tasks and activities.
Christ-Centered - True Harvest is Christ-centered in its curriculum and culture. Students will be reminded of God’s love, sovereignty, and goodness throughout their daily lessons.
High Expectations - Children will meet the expectations that are set for them. Therefore, they will be encouraged to become the best versions of themselves by receiving positive reinforcement and support throughout each day.
Integrity - Our goal is for staff, students, and parents to be proud of their affiliation with True Harvest, which is why integrity is an integral part of the program.
Respect - Mutual respect between all members of True Harvest is a top priority. We want families, students, and staff to feel safe and welcome in our classroom.

Meet the Staff
Mrs. Fredricks is a born and raised Alaskan who loves serving her hometown community of Fairbanks. She has been working with children for over fifteen years and while she loves teaching all ages, she has a special place in her heart for young students. She is a certified elementary teacher in the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District, currently completing her M.Ed., a certified 4th degree master martial arts instructor, and maintains her safety certification with USAG (United States of America Gymnastics). Mrs. Fredricks’ extensive experience working with children of various ages and capabilities in several different capacities is what sparked her desire to design the True Harvest program. She was homeschooled throughout middle school, and graduated from West Valley High School as a UA Scholar and earned her degrees at UAF. Some of her fondest memories are the incorporation of movement in her daily school lessons, which is why she is excited to share those experiences with the next generation. True Harvest is going to give her the opportunity to combine her passions: martial arts, gymnastics, inspiring a love of learning, and living for Christ.
